At Sager and Sons Auto, our ASE-certified technicians and dedicated team members bring decades of experience, craftsmanship, and genuine care to every vehicle that rolls into the bay. We’re more than a repair shop—we’re a family. And chances are, you’ll see a few of those family faces when you walk through our doors.

Dan – Master ASE Technician & Co-Owner

Dan grew up around grease, grit, and good work ethic, literally. From riding along in a tow truck with his dad, a factory GM technician, to turning wrenches in his own garage, cars have always been part of his story.

After moving to Boise in 2004, Dan worked as a full-time mechanic for a national tire chain while fixing cars at home to support his growing family. What started as side work quickly became a calling—one that led to the creation of Sager and Sons Auto, a shop built on integrity, precision, and community.

Today, Dan leads the team as a Master ASE-Certified Technician, specializing in advanced diagnostics, drivability concerns, and complex repairs. His approach blends deep technical knowledge with a teacher’s mindset, helping customers and team members understand the why behind every repair.

Favorite thing about the job: “Solving the tough ones the cars nobody else can figure out.”

Katie - operations & Customer Experience

Katie – Co-Owner & Operations Director

Katie is the structure and spirit behind the shop. With a degree in Criminal Justice from Boise State University and a background in art and psychology, she brings a rare blend of organization, creativity, and human understanding to every part of Sager and Sons Auto.

Before joining full-time, Katie ran her own successful online craft business. When she stepped into the shop, she immediately began transforming systems, training processes, and customer experience. She’s the reason the shop runs like a well-oiled machine—and the voice behind many of the digital tools, texts, and customer communications that make the Sager experience so smooth.

Favorite thing about the job: “Turning chaos into clarity and showing customers we truly care.”

Fun fact: Katie believes structure and creativity go hand-in-hand—and that both are needed to keep a shop running beautifully.

Alec – ASE-Certified Technician

Alec is one of “the Sons” in Sager and Sons Auto, and his technical skill and steady work ethic prove that the next generation of technicians is in great hands. He’s an ASE-Certified Technician with a strong focus on suspension, steering, and drivability diagnostics. Alec is known for his attention to detail and his ability to find the small issues that make a big difference in how a vehicle performs.

Favorite thing about the job: “Every car tells a story. I like finding the part that makes it whole again.”

Gage – ASE-Certified Technician

Like his brother, Gage grew up in the shop and developed an early love for how things work. He’s also an ASE-Certified Technician with strengths in heavy line, brakes, and fluid system maintenance. Gage brings both technical precision and a calm, easygoing presence to the team — the kind of person you can trust to get the job done right the first time.

Favorite thing about the job: “Seeing a customer’s relief when their car runs like it should; that’s the best feeling.”

Elliott – Shop Assistant & Apprentice Technician

Elliott may be the youngest of the crew, but he’s growing fast both in skill and passion for the trade. He keeps the shop clean, organized, and efficient, and spends his downtime playing video games like every other normal teenage boy. His curiosity, drive, and willingness to help with anything make him an invaluable part of the team — and the future of Sager and Sons Auto looks bright with him on board.

Favorite thing about the job: “Learning something new every day and working with my family.”

Jacob – Technician

Jacob brings discipline, reliability, and a strong work ethic to the Sager and Sons Auto team. With a military background and a deep commitment to excellence, he approaches every repair with precision and professionalism. As one of our full-time technicians, Jacob handles inspections, diagnostics, and repair work with the kind of thoroughness customers really notice. He’s a family man who takes pride in doing the job right the first time, and he’s quickly become a dependable pillar of the shop.

His calm presence, attention to detail, and ability to tackle tough jobs make him an invaluable part of our team.

Padfoot – Shop Morale Officer

Padfoot is our resident greeter, cheerleader, and four-legged mood booster. This Mini Aussie takes his job very seriously, greeting everyone who walks through the door with a bark, a wagging tail, and high expectations of being acknowledged. He LOVES attention, thrives on being recognized, and faithfully shadows Katie everywhere she goes. Whether he’s making customers smile, keeping the office lively, or supervising the shop from the doorway, Padfoot brings a warm, happy energy that everyone appreciates.

Favorite thing about the job: “Meeting new friends… and getting pets from every single one of them.”
