A Family Business Built on Integrity, Skill, and the Boise Community

When we moved to Boise in 2004, we didn’t set out to build a repair shop, we set out to build a life. In our early twenties, Dan worked as a mechanic for a national tire chain by day and turned wrenches in the driveway at night to help support our young family. He grew up in a tow truck, learning early that great automotive care isn’t just about fixing cars, it’s about helping people.

Dan’s father was a factory GM technician, and that legacy of precision, honesty, and hard work became the foundation for Sager and Sons Auto. What began as a side hustle soon grew into a thriving, community-rooted repair shop known for craftsmanship, transparency, and a genuine commitment to doing things the right way.

We’ve never been driven by investors or corporate policies, we’re family owned and operated, and we answer only to our customers and our conscience. Every repair that leaves our shop reflects the standards we’d expect for our own vehicles and the families who drive them.

With a Master ASE Technician leading the team and every technician holding ASE certifications, Sager and Sons Auto combines decades of experience with the latest diagnostic tools and repair technology. We specialize in servicing today’s complex modern vehicles while keeping the warmth and trust of an old-school neighborhood shop.

Meet Dan & Katie

Dan’s lifelong passion for the automotive world runs deep; from growing up in a tow truck to mastering modern diagnostics. Katie brings a unique blend of structure, creativity, and leadership to the business. With a degree in Criminal Justice from Boise State University and a background in both art and psychology, she has a rare ability to connect processes, people, and purpose.

Before joining the shop full-time, Katie ran her own successful online craft business and later stepped in to organize operations, grow the team, and build the customer experience that defines our shop today.

Together, we’re raising five incredible kids, 4 boys and 1 girl, and chances are, if you’ve visited the shop, you’ve met at least one of them. Our family’s story isn’t separate from Sager and Sons Auto it is the shop’s story.
