Can I just clear the code and see if it comes back?
Clearing a code without fixing the cause just resets the timer, the light will come back. In some cases, a stored fault code is the only record of an intermittent problem. Clearing it can make diagnosis harder, not easier.
Is it safe to drive with the check engine light on?
A solid check engine light is usually okay for a short time, but don't ignore it. A flashing check engine light means an active misfire that can damage your catalytic converter. That's stop-and-call-us territory.
Why does my car have multiple warning lights?
Multiple lights can sometimes trace back to a single cause, a low battery, a failing module, or a network communication fault. We diagnose the full picture rather than treating each light as a separate issue.
How long does a diagnostic take?
A basic scan and initial assessment usually takes 30-60 minutes. More complex electrical tracing, for intermittent faults or module communication issues, can take longer. We'll give you an honest timeline upfront.
Does the diagnostic fee apply toward the repair?
Yes, if you proceed with the recommended repair at our shop, the diagnostic fee is applied toward the total. Ask us about this when you drop off.
